(UnitedReader.com) – Once a Republican presidential candidate, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) has been an outspoken critic of President Biden. His most recent criticism comes after the president vowed to nominate a Supreme Court justice based on two key factors, race and gender. The hunt for a nomination comes after Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer announced he’s stepping down from the bench.
Cruz blasted Biden for promising to nominate a black woman to the Supreme Court bench, claiming it was offensive and insulting. The senator explained his position on his podcast “Verdict,” in which he claims Biden is telling the rest of America they’re not eligible for a nomination because they’re neither black nor female.

Senator Cruz explained that if Biden vowed to put the best jurist on the bench and nominated a black woman, he’d still have the credibility of nominating the most qualified person. Cruz added that Biden’s pledge is also an insult to black women. Especially those he’s considering, because their most important qualifications aren’t that they’re best equipped to replace Breyer, but instead that they fill a specific demographic.
The Republican senator noted that Biden is essentially telling any American who isn’t a black woman that they shouldn’t even try for the seat. Do you think Cruz is right? Should Biden search for the most qualified candidate regardless of race?
