Man Faces Arraignment After Murder of Children

(UnitedReader.com) – The world seems to be getting crazier and crazier. A man is facing arraignment after he allegedly killed his two children. The suspect currently faces two counts of foreign murder of US citizens.

Forty-year-old Matthew Taylor Coleman is accused of killing his children, a 2-year-old son, and his 10-month-old daughter. Authorities found the two toddlers on a ranch in Baja California, a state in Mexico. Both children suffered multiple stab wounds, and a potential murder weapon, a wooden stake, was recovered near the bodies.

Coleman’s wife, the children’s mother, reported Coleman and the children missing from Santa Barbara on August 7. Authorities in the area utilized the iPhone locator app. They discovered the three were in Mexico, prompting the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) to hand the case over to the US Border Patrol.

US Border Patrol agents, who had been expecting Coleman, stopped him as he attempted to reenter the United States. However, the two children were not with their father, a situation that immediately triggered alarm from the federal agents.

In an interview with Border Patrol, Coleman admitted to murdering his two young children, stating they were “going to grow into monsters,” and he had to kill them. The alleged murderer added that he knew what he did was wrong, but he had no other choice. Coleman also mentioned conspiracy theories that may have led to his actions.

Coleman could face up to 60 years in prison and has a chance of being extradited to serve his sentence in a Mexican prison. Both US and Mexican authorities are working to return the bodies of the two toddlers to California.
