Border Agents Make Record Number of Arrests Within 24 Hours

Record Number Of New Arrests Within 24 Hours — Thousands Of Apprehensions

(UnitedReader.com) – The US Customs and Border Patrol have been swamped with immigrants over the past couple of years. At one point, the United States had a humanitarian crisis on its hands after regional authorities saw a massive surge of illegal crossings. Now, after making a record number of arrests within a 24-hour span, Border Patrol agents fear the problem could be reaching critical levels.

Breitbart exclusively reported that border authorities arrested an estimated 1,100 immigrants. The crackdown started in the late afternoon of June 14, when around 300 undocumented individuals crossed into the United States — the highest number of people ever to cross the border in a single incident. Nevertheless, only 16 hours later, an estimated 400 immigrants entered the country during the morning hours of June 15.

The group of 400 crossed at around 8 a.m., and yet another 100 crossed in the same area at 10 a.m. Finally, a group of 300 more immigrants entered the US around 11 a.m., bringing the total number of Border Patrol arrests to 800 in less than 4 hours. These 800 migrants, combined with the 300 who crossed on June 14, brings the total number of arrests to 1,100 in less than 24 hours. Authorities mentioned that many of the migrants were from Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua.

The record number of arrests occurred in the Del Rio Sector, the same area where thousands of migrants camped out under the Del Rio International Bridge, creating a humanitarian crisis. The sector is a popular place for migrants to cross the Rio Grande River, which acts as a natural border marker between the United States and Mexico. With the record number of arrests taking place just days ago, is it possible the US could face another border crisis like the one in the summer of 2021?
