(UnitedReader.com) – The holidays are less than a week away, and people will be traveling. While some drive to their destinations, many choose to fly to have more time with family and friends. If you decide to fly, be sure not to violate any Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulations.
Apparently, many gun owners didn’t read TSA’s guidelines for what they can and cannot bring on an airplane, even as checked baggage. The administration does allow guns on planes, but each must be locked away from ammo in a hard case, and the owner must let the airline know before traveling.
The Transportation Security Administration announced it had confiscated a record number of firearms from travelers in 2021.
"This year, TSA officers have stopped more than 5,700 firearms at checkpoints—a 20-year record," a TSA spokesman said.https://t.co/y2Xh3KQjbp

2021 has been a year of record highs, with the number of immigrants at an all-time maximum, inflation at the highest the country has seen in decades and now TSA announcing that it confiscated more guns this year than in the last two decades. The previous record was set in 2019, with TSA confiscating 4,432 firearms for various reasons.
As the world edges closer and closer to 2022, TSA has confiscated more than 5,700 guns at airports. In fact, TSA reported that it broke the previous record in the first nine months of 2021. Of the more than 5,700 firearms, the company noted that nearly 90% were loaded, with just under half of those having a round in the chamber.
Gun owners who plan on taking trips with their beloved firearms need to make sure they read and understand the TSA guidelines for traveling. Offenders are likely to face consequences, which could be fines of up to $13,910 per violation, per person.
