(UnitedReader.com) – As New York City (NYC) Mayor Bill de Blasio is looking to leave office come the first day of 2022, the city’s mayor-elect, Eric Adams, is hoping to make a difference. The incoming mayor made some bold statements at a recent event where he spoke. The new tone that Adams wants to set seems to sit well with Republicans.
Despite Adams being a Democrat and running as one in the mainly Democratic city of NYC, he’s making an impression with Republicans. Adams gave a stern warning to rioters, looters, anarchists and Black Lives Matter (BLM) activists. While at The Harvard Club’s Police Athletic League event, Adams asserted that he wasn’t going to hand over NYC to people who wanted to see it burn.

Adams declared NYC wasn’t going to end up like Queens, where outsiders came in and destroyed the community. Several Republicans in the audience, such as former New York Police Department Commissioner William Bratton, New York GOP Chairman Ed Cox and billionaire businessman John Catsimatidis, responded positively to the speech.
The incoming mayor’s warning seems to be aimed primarily at Hawk Newsome, who is a leader of BLM. Newsome asserted that there would be bloodshed, fire and riots if the mayor-elect decided to reform crime policies to rejuvenate those in place before outgoing Mayor de Blasio removed them.
