(UnitedReader.com) – Former President Donald Trump still has plenty of supporters, both inside and outside of the government. Despite Senator Lindsey Graham’s (R-SC) unrivaled support of Trump, the pair have recently disagreed on issues. But which one is right?
During a recent rally in Texas, former President Trump asserted that if he ran and won, he would pardon the people who participated in the January 6 riot on Capitol Hill. Senator Graham declared that any politically motivated riot is unacceptable and claimed those involved should be punished.

Graham expressed that he was present during the Capitol riot and described it as one of America’s darkest days in history. The Senator’s comments came in an effort to double down on the issue as former President Trump called him a nice guy but described him as a RINO, or “Republican in Name Only.”
Graham originally asserted his position on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” where he called Trump’s initial comments inappropriate, prompting the response from Trump that led to Graham doubling down on his opinion.
The senator has been a strong ally of Trump’s in the Senate, but he also shows that he won’t blindly follow the former president. Graham mentioned that forgiving the January 6 protestors would open the door for other groups to follow suit and become violent. Trump claims he would give them pardons due to how unfairly they’ve been treated since January 6, 2021, calling it the fair thing to do.
What do you think? Who’s right, Trump or Graham?
