Celebrity Chef Ina Garten Has Some Serious Advice on Surviving the Pandemic

(UnitedReader.com) – The pandemic has undoubtedly been brutal on everyone, with even rich and famous people struggling to stay sane. While the lockdowns are over, at least for now, there are still some restrictions on what people can do, like eating at a buffet. Thankfully, Chef Ina Garten has some words of wisdom to get us through these challenging times, especially with the help of a good cosmopolitan.

After actress Reese Witherspoon posted a video on Instagram talking about self-care and the book “Atomic Habits: An Easy & Proven Way to Build Good Habits & Break Bad Ones.” She asserted that if a person does something one percent better than their average, they’ll become one percent better, noting the opposite as well.

She then listed some of the steps she takes to improve herself, including getting to bed by 10:00 p.m., beginning the day with a glass of water and reading uninterrupted for half an hour. Celebrity Chef Garten had plenty to say about Witherspoon’s post — not that it was bad, just that it wasn’t her idea of living life.

Garten didn’t take long to comment on the actress’s post, asserting that it’s all fine and dandy but she wasn’t going to be following Witherspoon’s lifestyle. Instead, Garten claimed the best way to get through the pandemic was to drink more large cosmopolitans, stay in bed playing Sudoku instead of reading, stay up late binge-watching addictive TV shows and safely spend time with family and loved ones.

The women have very different ways of dealing with the ensuing pandemic, to say the least, but both might be correct. Witherspoon’s may be a healthier style, but Garten urges people to do what makes them comfortable and what they love, regardless of how healthy or unhealthy it may be. Not bad advice to live by. After all, you only live once.

Please be sure to drink responsibly.
