(UnitedReader.com) – Authorities recently found actor and comedian Robert “Bob” Saget dead in an Orlando, FL hotel room. Investigators have ruled out foul play and drug use as the cause of Saget’s death in their initial report. However, there are suspicions that a heart attack or stroke may have played a role in his eventful death. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) explained that a medical examiner would determine Saget’s official cause of death.
The Latest
According to the preliminary report from OCSO, the actor was lying on the bed, face up, with his left arm across his chest and his right arm resting on the bed. Authorities indicated that Saget’s room at the Ritz Carlton Orlando was in order, and the comedian’s personal belongings all appeared to be in place.
The report noted that Saget was scheduled to check out of his room on January 9. The comedian’s family attempted to contact him, with no response. They then called the hotel, which sent a security guard to check on the actor. When the guard, Jody Lee Harrison, entered the room, all the lights were off. Harrison noted that Saget was cold to the touch and not breathing, adding he told the hotel’s security dispatch to call 911.
During the emergency call, the hotel staff said they had an unresponsive guest, explaining the person wasn’t breathing and had no pulse.
The report indicated that Saget entered his room around 2:20 a.m. Eastern Time (ET), and authorities declared the actor dead around 4:20 p.m. ET. The OCSO sent Saget’s body to the medical examiner, who will perform an autopsy on the comedian. The medical examiner told authorities that it could be as long as four months before an official cause of death comes from the investigation.
America’s Dad
In his younger days, Saget played a lead role on the hit sitcom “Full House” as a single father, Danny Tanner, and served as the host of “America’s Funniest Home Videos.” In his book, “Dirty Daddy: The Chronicles of a Family Man Turned Filthy Comedian,” he admitted he was stressed and felt that he was funny but didn’t see himself as amusing when the shows aired. At the time, Saget was working 80 hours per week between “Full House” and “America’s Funniest Home Videos.”
The 65-year-old entertainer came to Florida during his “I Don’t Do Negative Comedy Tour,” which he claimed made him feel like he was 26 again and back in the game. The comedic legend celebrated online after the embracing audiences he received in Orlando and the Ponte Vedra Beach area. Saget’s Twitter was full of updates about his tour and how his shows were going, with his last one expressing his joy of doing comedy again after a show in Jacksonville, FL.
The hole that Saget’s death leaves in the hearts of millions of Americans will not be an easy one to fill. Will anyone ever become the new father of America?
