(UnitedReader.com) – The case of Gabby Petito drew national attention to her fiancé, Brian Laundrie. He vanished shortly before officials located and identified her body at Grand Teton National Park on September 20th. Nevertheless, a search dog on the hunt for Laundrie discovered the remains of 46-year-old Robert Lowery on a slope near the Black Canyon Trail. The man initially went missing on August 20.
The high-profile case surrounding Petito attracted Dog the Bounty Hunter and America’s Most Wanted host, John Walsh, who joined in the search for the deceased woman’s former fiancé. Laundrie remains missing as of the time this article was written. The same effort recently helped authorities discover another body.

The father of two from Houston, TX, appeared in footage recorded on August 19 at a restaurant in Teton Village, WY. Authorities say Lowery carried a black duffel bag, tent and sleeping bag through Black Canyon Trail the next day, after which point he disappeared.
Teton County Search and Rescue found the body around 40 to 45 miles from the area where authorities discovered the body of 22-year-old Petito. The search team says they found Lowery’s body on a steep slope. Authorities haven’t yet determined his cause of death.
Lowery’s family thanked authorities, the media, and searchers for locating their beloved son, brother and father. They’re currently waiting on autopsy results from the Teton County Coroner’s Office, and just want the space to grieve in private. The Teton County Sheriff’s Office does not suspect a connection between the two deaths.
