(UnitedReader.com) – Former President Donald Trump was the subject of scrutiny during his time in the Oval Office. Now, to no one’s surprise, President Joe Biden faces similar backlash. However, things seem to play out differently with him.
Roselle Park officials initiated legal action against a woman after displaying several anti-Biden signs outside her home containing profanity. The woman, Patricia Dilascio, and her daughter, Andrea Dick, faced fines of $250 per day for their profanity-filled signs.
Ms. Dick told reporters she supported DonaldTrump and believed he lost his recent reelection bid due to widespread election fraud. New Jersey’s chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) represented the mother and daughter, citing the obvious violation of their constitutionally protected free speech rights. As the ACLU explained, the First Amendment was explicitly put in place to grant citizens the unfettered right to express their opinions on political issues.

Apparently recognizing the way the winds were blowing, Roselle Park Mayor Joe Signorello asked the court to dismiss the case, citing the cost of litigating the issue.
Roselle Park is now facing a possible lawsuit from Ms. Dick. She believes the nationwide backlash and hate mail she now receives resulted from her court case going public. However, she also proudly confirmed she has no intentions of removing her signs and encouraged detractors to continue sending letters.
