The devout Catholic movie star talked with Entertainment Tonight in an exclusive interview about his new movie and intentions to leave Hollywood sooner rather than later. Now 50 years old, Wahlberg has come to realize that there’s nothing more important than his family, consisting of his wife, Rhea Durham, and their four children: Grace, 12; Brendan, 13; Michael, 16; and Ella, 18. They’re the reason Wahlberg may be lowering the curtain on his long and successful career.
The actor did declare that he looks forward to making more films, adding he wants them to be stories like “Father Stu,” not necessarily faith-based, but just movies that help people in general. Wahlberg mentioned the biggest sacrifice he’s made is his family, and that any future projects would need to be seriously attractive in order to get him on board. He hopes that “Father Stu” will not only help people watching it, but also inspire those in Hollywood to come up with movies that have real, meaningful content.
