(UnitedReader.com) – Not many people have as much success on the hit TV show “Jeopardy” as the engineer manager who, despite losing her 40th game just recently, won 39 consecutive games.
Amy Schneider, an engineering manager from Oakland, CA, won her 39th contest on January 24’s episode. She was in second place at the time, and on pace to potentially challenge the first place holder, Ken Jennings. Although her winning streak came to an end on Wednesday’s episode, her achievements were record-breaking.

After her historic win, Schneider noted that it “felt unreal.” She passed the former runner-up, Matt Amodio, who had 38 consecutive wins. She now has nearly $1.32 million, putting her in a very exclusive group of four contestants who’ve each earned over a million dollars on the show. Amodio won $1.52 million during his run, James Holzhauer won his way up to $2.46 million and the man with the most wins, 74, Ken Jennings, also enjoys the most amount of money any person has won on the show at $2.5 million.
Jeopardy’s latest big winner will join Amodio in its next “Tournament of Champions.” Ken Jennings has been an interim host for Jeopardy after the tragic loss of Alex Trebek. Schneider noted that she was shocked to see herself on TV and figured she could win a few games but had no idea she was going to perform so well — a bit of humbleness from a rising star.
