House GOP Reveals Why Democrats Are REALLY Pushing For Gun Control
(UnitedReader.com) – Democrats have a long-standing pattern of using tragedies to advance their ongoing efforts to regulate gun ownership. Predictably, they jumped on the opportunity to exploit the recent shootings in Uvalde, Texas, and Buffalo, New York. However, House Republicans are pushing back, calling Democratic efforts nothing more than political theater.

House Democrats are attempting to force through a set of gun control measures aimed at “protecting our kids.” Their legislation includes a proposal to increase the federal age requirement to purchase a semi-automatic rifle from 18 to 21 years. They also want to reduce the ammo capacity of magazines.
Representative Jim Jordan (R-OH), the ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee, took to Twitter to criticize his Democrat counterparts, writing that taking rights away from law-abiding citizens isn’t the answer.
Taking away the guns of law abiding citizens is never the answer.

Democrats also want to require mandatory background checks for all gun purchases, including ghost guns, firearms that are typically assembled by individuals using items purchased without a check. They also want to create a law regarding the safe storage of weapons, particularly when minors are in the vicinity.
Republican members of the House Judiciary Committee slammed Democrats on Twitter, claiming the legislation was “all for show.”

Congressional Republicans aren’t the only ones resisting the Democratic effort to implement these laws; gun rights groups and advocates also oppose the legislation.
